The Las Vegas Raiders released Derek Carr after the quarterback refused to waive his no-trade clause, the team announced.
If Carr were still on the Raiders’ roster as of 4 pm ET Tuesday, $40.4 million of his contract would have been fully guaranteed.
The roster move frees up about $29 million in salary-cap space for Las Vegas and allows Carr to hit the open market a month before the start of the new NFL league year.
