Netflix is considering a new romantic comedy called Bride’s mother starring Benjamin Bratt, Brooke Shields and Miranda Cosgrove. Here’s everything we’ve heard so far.
mark the waters is on board to serve as the film’s director. He previously worked with Netflix on the 2021 romantic comedy, he is all that but also directed vampire academy (2014) and The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008).
Writing romantic comedy is Robin Bernheim Burger that he wrote in all three of Netflix The princess switch movies and worked on A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding.
The film is about a young woman named Emma who marries the love of her life at a resort wedding in Phuket, Thailand. While there, Emma learns that her mother, Lana, the father of her soon-to-be husband, RJ, had her heart broken in college. This news sheds a new light on what is supposed to be her big day.
Who is included? Bride’s mother?
So far, we’ve heard of three names attached to the project.
- benjamin bratt – Best known for demolition man, Coconut, and peacock Poker face. For Netflix, she starred in the 2016 film, Special correspondents.
- Brooke Shields – Best known for The blue Lagoon and Pretty Baby. She recently worked with Netflix on A castle for Christmas.
- Miranda Cosgrove – Best known for icarly and My favorite villain.
Bride’s mother to start production in April 2023
The production, which has a budget of just over $10 million, we’re hearing will start production on April 10, 2023 (this is highly subject to change).
Filming will take place on location in Thailand.
Netflix did not provide official comment for our story. Once Netflix officially announces the project, we’ll update this preview with any additional information.
