The Netflix revivals have been some of the biggest success stories in the Netflix library. Lucifer, Manifest, and black mirror There have been great shows that Netflix revived or continued from other networks, but there are also plenty of cases where the roles are reversed. Here you have a complete list of all the series renewed for additional seasons outside of Netflix.
For most shows, buying off of Netflix is very difficult when Netflix owns the underlying IP. In most cases, you’ll find that Netflix didn’t own these shows in the first instance, either reviving them or being bought into the original Netflix umbrella.
However, a handful of shows have managed to find life after being canceled by Netflix.

Mystery Science Theater 3000

Network that revived: gizmoplex
This movie review show has aired since the late 1980s on various networks, including Comedy Central and the Sci-Fi Channel. Its Netflix revival came under The Gauntlet, and two seasons were released before it was ultimately cancelled.
Since its cancellation, the show has become independent, residing at the Gizmoplex.

Network that revived: popular television
One of Netflix’s most acclaimed sitcoms has been One day at a time, developed by Gloria Calderón Kellett and Mike Royce.
Three seasons aired on Netflix between 2017 and 2019, and sadly, they were cancelled. The show was revived for a shorter season of 7 episodes on Pop TV before being immediately cancelled.
The show was distributed and produced by Sony Pictures Television.

Network that revived: Shudder
slasher is one of the more interesting titles on this list, as not only did it change hands from Netflix to another provider, but Netflix itself revived the show away from Chiller for seasons 2 and 3.
The show was revived on the AMC-run horror streaming service Shudder and aired in late 2021.
Why the program changed hands as much as it did is not on the public record, although the collapse of one of the parent companies is thought to be likely the reason. The first seasons of the series even left Netflix for a short time.

Star wars, the clone wars began its life on Cartoon Network for 5 seasons (following the theatrical film’s release) before being cancelled. Netflix held the streaming rights to the series and eventually ordered a sixth season titled The Lost Missions (consisting of 13 episodes), which premiered in 2014.
The series then left Netflix in 2019, but was notably revived for a single final season on Disney+, which launched in early 2020.
Tuca and Bertie

Network that revived: adult swimming
When it comes to adult animated titles, there’s never been anything like it. Tuca and Bertie. The show came from Lisa Hanawalt and was a series of slices from life about two anthropomorphic bird friends who live in the same apartment complex.
Sadly, the show was not delivered for Netflix after just one season and was ultimately cancelled.
Tornante Productions and Warner Bros. Television Distribution were behind the show, so when it was canceled on Netflix, the WB decided to revive the show for two additional seasons on AdultSwim before it was announced that it would not return for a fourth season.

Network that revived: Show time
disengaged was the highly rated comedy series starring Neil Patrick Harris, which was canceled by Netflix after just one season. Still, weeks later he announced that he would be heading exclusively to Showtime for future seasons.
The series was notably revived on Showtime the same day Netflix pulled a show from the network, though the timing is reportedly just a coincidence.
Other revivals away from Netflix
A few other titles were also revived outside of Netflix, including:
- DreamWorks Dragons: Rescue Riders – Two seasons and several specials on Netflix under the name Rescue Riders with seasons 3-6 exclusively on Peacock.
- happy valley – It resided on Netflix internationally (outside the UK) as a Netflix Original, but has since left and new seasons have gone to AMC.
- Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya – First season on Netflix before moving exclusively to Crunchyroll for season 2 and expected to return for a season 3.
